I don't have an excuse for this delay (again). I just seem to let time get&lt;br /&gt;
away from me and then POOF!, it's two months since the last issue. Anyway,&lt;br /&gt;
in this article you'll find the updates, a few wonderful articles (We get to&lt;br /&gt;
find out about Serpentarius' latest adventure! I teared up, I won't lie.),&lt;br /&gt;
and a rather important note from Sandra.&lt;br /&gt;

Building:&lt;br /&gt;
Straussy was on a roll the past week or so. He's done a LOT of work on the &lt;br /&gt;
Titanic, as well as:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
London: &lt;br /&gt;
Some fixes to the Royal Explorer quest --&lt;br /&gt;
Shouldn't be asked to go places you can't get into. He shouldn't get confused &lt;br /&gt;
if you ask him conference more than once. You can't get others to pick up the &lt;br /&gt;
handbooks for you. get out there and find them yourselves, Lazies!&lt;br /&gt;
Pieces of parchment are now NOTE.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Rome:&lt;br /&gt;
Named NPCs should now have all of their keywords AS keywords.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Nazca:&lt;br /&gt;
The udan teacher will not require the correct stats.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Paris:&lt;br /&gt;
Mimi's response will depend on quest completion.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
F.I.War:&lt;br /&gt;
Some reworking of indian acts in the longhouse. Shouldn't be too much &lt;br /&gt;
different than it is currently.&lt;br /&gt;
Indians that stop the fight will now give a message saying so.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Boston:&lt;br /&gt;
Minor fix to Johnny to make him a little more down to earth.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Klein:&lt;br /&gt;
Hopefully fixed the gates where the mobs are going back and forth like a &lt;br /&gt;
buncha goof balls.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Alaska:&lt;br /&gt;
Decreases the timer on some of the detrimental affects. And a few typo fixes.&lt;br /&gt;

Pirates Den:&lt;br /&gt;
Blackbeard is mad. That is all.&lt;br /&gt;

Japan:&lt;br /&gt;
Changed the innkeeper's name, since Minako the player has been here longer.&lt;br /&gt;

We've increased the skill lag on topple to be about the same as bash.&lt;br /&gt;

* add command 'merge' for people who know how to 'make bandage'&lt;br /&gt;

merge: &lt;br /&gt;
merge allows you to merge bandage rolls, i. e. you need to have 2 non-full,&lt;br /&gt;
non-flaming bandage rolls in your inventory. if you then type 'merge', the&lt;br /&gt;
2nd roll found in your inventory matching these requirements will be filled&lt;br /&gt;
up with bandages from the 1st roll found. After the merge, 2nd roll is full, &lt;br /&gt;
1st roll will have a reduced number of bandages or will be gone if it did not&lt;br /&gt;
have enough or just enough bandages to fill 2nd roll.&lt;br /&gt;

The serpent in medieval should be more verbose during combat.&lt;br /&gt;
Blue whales should be more polite when destroying your strung vessels.&lt;br /&gt;

Tartarus keys should be more balanced now.&lt;br /&gt;
A hand-written manuscript has changed its description to make it more unique.&lt;br /&gt;

The Time Has Come...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In my time on Legend, the game has gone from a tiny little world with just&lt;br /&gt;
a handful of areas, to a large one,with dozens of areas, scores of quests,&lt;br /&gt;
and while our playerbase isn't what it once was, we've got a loyal one that&lt;br /&gt;
has stuck with us through thick and thin. I'm proud to say that I've been a&lt;br /&gt;
part of all of that. I've 'watched' our players grow from pain-in-the-ass&lt;br /&gt;
teenagers to parents and good friends. Along side of you, I've felt the&lt;br /&gt;
pain of loss of friends I've known only online. LegendMUD has become a&lt;br /&gt;
great community, and I'm thankful of that.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
However, it's time for me to step away from my position as Implementor. I've&lt;br /&gt;
had a great time as an immortal on Legend. Starting way back when dirt was&lt;br /&gt;
a newbie(mind you, Rufus was still bigger than both me and dirt ;), I can&lt;br /&gt;
remember sitting with ParticleMan and discussing applying. Never thinking&lt;br /&gt;
that 15 years from then I'd still be working on Legend not only as an imm&lt;br /&gt;
but as an Imp. I can honestly say that Legend is the only thing I've done&lt;br /&gt;
longer than 5 years, and I've enjoyed just about every minute of it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
However, my health is my priority these days, and with school on top of&lt;br /&gt;
that, I no longer have the time I once did for Legend. I feel as though I'd&lt;br /&gt;
be doing everyone an injustice if I stayed active but did nothing. You all&lt;br /&gt;
deserve to have somebody there for questions, suggestions and help. Sadly,&lt;br /&gt;
that's no longer me.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So please give Lorenzo some time to get things straightened out in the Imm&lt;br /&gt;
neck of the woods. I have no doubt that he'll continue to do a great job&lt;br /&gt;
as Implementor, just as I have no doubt that the rest of the staff will&lt;br /&gt;
continue to do the great jobs they have been doing. And you can bet I'll&lt;br /&gt;
be back around to see that damn Titanic go in! (That's right Straussy, I'm&lt;br /&gt;
looking at you! ;)&lt;br /&gt;

He doesn't have any this go-round because he did the MOST AWESOME THING EVER&lt;br /&gt;

However, I have wins for you guys. Seriously. You were ridiculously active.&lt;br /&gt;
Though, of course, you had quite a long time to be active! Since August 11,&lt;br /&gt;
Fawkes has had 62 wins, Artis has had 45, Reddeath has had 41, Rajah has had&lt;br /&gt;
39 wins, and rounding out the top 5 PKers are Elly and Mors, each with 36 wins&lt;br /&gt;
respectively.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After adding all of the wins together, there were 531 total wins. That means&lt;br /&gt;
there were at least 531 fights. AT LEAST, kids. I mean, if there were 531&lt;br /&gt;
fights with logged winners, just imagine how many fights there were which&lt;br /&gt;
didn't have definite endings.&lt;br /&gt;

Aliases...No not the AKA's (also known as)... on second thought maybe it *is* &lt;br /&gt;
just like that!&lt;br /&gt;

Did you know Legend has a server based  'alias' system? I *LOVE* it!  I play &lt;br /&gt;
Legend from several computers, from work, from my laptop, from the library, at&lt;br /&gt;
my brother's house...yeah, all over - AND sometimes I have to use telnet &lt;br /&gt;
(ugh). Don't you just think it's just rude to download a client to someone &lt;br /&gt;
else's computer??  So Legend has this cool way for you to make your own &lt;br /&gt;
aliases and have them always available, no matter which computer you're on. &lt;br /&gt;
Especially for my mages...It makes it so much easier to cast spells with one &lt;br /&gt;
word , like 'fly' rather than 'chant guh buh wonga monga ex so-and-so'. Don't &lt;br /&gt;
you think so?&lt;br /&gt;

Aliases are a way of simplifying and customizing your interaction with Legend&lt;br /&gt;
by letting you create your own vocabulary. Legend offers three kinds of&lt;br /&gt;
alias. A COMMAND alias allows you to make up your own name for a command or a&lt;br /&gt;
complex sequence of commands. PERSON aliases let you create your own names for&lt;br /&gt;
other players or for mobiles, and OBJECT aliases allow you to define your own&lt;br /&gt;
words for the things in the world around you. Legend's aliases are completely&lt;br /&gt;
server-based, so they're available with your character regardless of which mud&lt;br /&gt;
client you use, or of whether you use a client at all.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So people!!! Use it! Make those aliases!!  It's awesome! &lt;br /&gt;

A Trial of Modesty&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Having searched every corner of the planet to no avail, Serpentarius realized&lt;br /&gt;
there was only one place left to look. The one place that filled him with&lt;br /&gt;
dread; the Tomb in which he'd been imprisoned for millenia.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It took him a long time to find the cave entrance - it was halfway up the side&lt;br /&gt;
of a cliff, completely hidden from unsuspecting eyes and protected by jagged&lt;br /&gt;
rocks below and the raging tides of the sea. Clearly, the Zodiac hadn't left&lt;br /&gt;
his freedom up to chance, Serpentarius thought.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But the thought froze him in place. He had assumed he'd been freed by some&lt;br /&gt;
unfortunate explorer or the like who had stumbled upon his sarcophagus, but&lt;br /&gt;
could now see it would be impossible for any human to scale the cliff. Who was&lt;br /&gt;
it then, who had freed him?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Serpentarius tried to draw his focus to the cave, but there was little to&lt;br /&gt;
focus on. It was pitch black inside with many twisting passages and dead ends,&lt;br /&gt;
so his progress was slow and fraught with fiendish traps. In fact, so complex&lt;br /&gt;
was the cave that Serpentarius began to wonder exactly how he'd managed to&lt;br /&gt;
find his way out in the first place.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After hours of searching, he finally found what could only be his burial&lt;br /&gt;
chamber. A massive sarcophagus stood in the center of a large cavern, faintly&lt;br /&gt;
illuminated against the darkness. It was the first time he'd taken a proper&lt;br /&gt;
look at the prison in which he'd spent tens of millions of years, but it&lt;br /&gt;
looked much more spacious than it felt on the inside. He noticed some runes&lt;br /&gt;
written on the side; he recognized them as spells of sealing from Libra, and&lt;br /&gt;
so it would take nothing short of a Zodiac to undo them.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The sound of a sniffle then broke both the silence and Serpentarius'&lt;br /&gt;
concentration. He stepped around the sarcophagus to where the sound came from&lt;br /&gt;
and saw a very faint figure resting against the side.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'Virgo?' Serpentarius whispered in disbelief. She looked up at him and smiled&lt;br /&gt;
weakly as he knelt down next to her. She had faded to the point where she was&lt;br /&gt;
now little more than a ghost, and her smile couldn't hide the pain in her&lt;br /&gt;
eyes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'What happened?' asked Serpentarius, noticing a bite mark on her neck. The&lt;br /&gt;
fang impressions looked familiar. Horribly familiar.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'It's... nothing. Don't worry about it, love,' Virgo said softly. But that was&lt;br /&gt;
all that was needed to confirm Serpentarius' worst fears.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'Did I.... do this..?' asked a stunned Serpentarius. Virgo remained silent, a&lt;br /&gt;
tear rolling down her cheek as she looked down at the ground.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And now Serpentarius realized what he had done. When his sarcophagus was&lt;br /&gt;
opened, his spirit needed to feed; and what better meal than some foolish&lt;br /&gt;
adventurer? Thus with fangs bared he struck them in the neck before making his&lt;br /&gt;
escape from the Tomb. But only now did he realize it was Virgo who had freed&lt;br /&gt;
him, and Virgo who had paid the price.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'Please.. tell me what I must do to make this right,' Serpentarius pleaded&lt;br /&gt;
with her. But she simply shook her head.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'It is already right,' Virgo whispered reassuringly. 'For all those years I&lt;br /&gt;
wandered, looking for a way to free you, I wished only to see you live again.&lt;br /&gt;
Even if I had to trade my life for yours. So please... don't blame yourself.&lt;br /&gt;
You've done nothing wrong..'&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Unable to feel or say anything, Serpentarius gently picked up Virgo and&lt;br /&gt;
cradled her softly in his arms. He knew there was no cure for his venom. He&lt;br /&gt;
knew she must've been suffering in agony for months. It was miraculous she'd&lt;br /&gt;
even survived this long.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'I do have.. one request,' whispered Virgo weakly.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Serpentarius looked down at her. 'Tell me. I'll do anything,' he pleaded.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'You must take my power,' Virgo said.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Serpentarius thought for a few moments. 'No... I could not,' he replied. 'I've&lt;br /&gt;
already taken more from you than I could ever deserve. I would sooner die&lt;br /&gt;
again...'&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Virgo smiled up at him. 'You have passed the trial of Modesty and I will give&lt;br /&gt;
you my power,' she said, knowing her time was over. Serpentarius couldn't&lt;br /&gt;
respond, but he also couldn't hold back the tears. He knew as well.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'Please don't be sad. At least this way, I can watch over you,' Virgo said&lt;br /&gt;
gently as the last of her spirit faded away.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
'I will always be with you...'&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
