I hope everyone had a great (holiday, if you celebrated) weekend.
There's about one month left in 2004 and then we'll be celebrating
the arrival of 2005 and then the expies will be here!

Congratulations are in store for Nestor, our newest full builder, as
Carthage was installed on Friday and seems to have attracted a good
bit of tourist traffic already. Thanks to everyone who has taken the
time to note oddities and such on the bug and typo channels. This
feedback and any ideas you have for improvement for the areas is
important to the builders to create and evolve areas into useful
components of the LegendMUD world.

Just a reminder that characters sending in RP pieces and PK write-ups
receive a pink plastic prize token for their player's efforts.
Typically, I try to print only one alt's story an issue. A max of 500
words is recommended, but stories need not be that long. Many of the
early LT issues seemed to convey much more information about the
goings on in Legend's community in a much shorter space. The authors
managed this by condensing and reporting on online events and showing
interactions between the world's inhabitants. If you're interested in
seeing about seeing your writing efforts published to an even wider
audience, please see the article below titled, 'Get Published!' for
more info on a couple sites to check out.

Remember that purges are going to start up again January 1st. Purges
will happen on schedule the first day of each month and any character
that has not been played within the previous 30 days will be moved
out of the active player directory. If you have a character that you
don't play often enough but don't want to lose please ARCHIVE them.
You can see who would have been purged on November first on the
purge list on the website.

There will be a new list posted around the first of December with the
list of chars that would have been purged on that day. We will then
change the script that handles this from logging only mode to purge
mode on January 1st, 2005.

Get Published!

You've just finished a marvellous LT article and you're about to send
it in for publication -- but wait! Did you know that there may be
other outlets interested in your article as well? You can reach a
wider audience if you publish your work on other sites -- in addition
to the LT, of course!

Many different websites accept the same types of articles we run in
the LT -- fiction, non-fiction, commentary about roleplay, and so
forth. Some of them will let you include a banner for Legend if you
publish on their site. We'd appreciate the publicity, and you'd get a
wider audience for your talent and hard work -- a perfect
combination! Make sure you let them know whether the article has been
published in the LT, some places prefer to be the first place to
publish something (in that case, make it an LT article for the future
:]).

Published as an e-zine, RPGTimes publishes fiction and non-fiction
as well as reviews and artwork.

TopMUDSites
Yup, this source of rankings for muds also publishes articles about
general mud-related topics. Vote for us while you're there!
