send in your nominations before the weekend is over. The next step will
be a tallying of the nominations and a formulation of the final ballots!

And Thursday night will be another open PK Practice Session to be held on
another port. So if you wanna try out your luck, maybe get a few pointers

January 26... If you want to nominate someone for one of the awards or a
write-in, do it soon, time is running out!

Even if you only nominate one character for one award, we want your
ballot!

Don't think your nomination will count? One nomination can be the
difference between someone making the final ballot or not. Yours could be
the deciding factor!

If you plan to participate in this year's Expies in any way, whether you
expect to win an Expie or are just nominating and voting, it is
imperative that you read this.

Due to activities in the past couple of years and complaints regarding
such, we are instituting a new policy. We have always discouraged
campaigning and bribery to win an Expie. It is not within the spirit of
the Expies. Unfortunately, despite such discouragement, it still happens.

Starting this year, we will begin disqualifying nominees that participate
in campaigns and utilize bribery to win nominations and votes.
Campaigning just to disqualify someone will result in disciplinary action
against the campaigner.

What constitutes campaigning? Illusions, notes, board posts, repeated
comments on channels, and other like activity in the game encouraging
people to nominate/vote a certain way. This includes campaigning both for
and against something/someone.

What constitutes bribery? The offering of XP, coupons, strings,
equipment, quest help, money, etc to secure someone's nomination or vote.
Please report any activities of such, preferably with logs.

NZ LegendMEET?

Having been paying attention as of late I've noticed there are quite a few
players who are from NZ, and a good portion of those reside in
Invercargill. Because of this I propose we have our own LegendMEET
right here in Invers, those who are interested mudmail me and I'll start
organizing something.

The Knights of Takhisis were formed on January 19, 2003. These Knights
fight with their own set of values, morals, and honor. Their goal is to
kill in the Dark Goddess' name, and become powerful enough to re-open the
portal, and bring her back into the mortal realm.

The Acquisitioners Guild formed on January 19, 2003.

We are a group of people who gather together to provide
you, the citizens of this world with requests that you
might have. We offer mail ordering, just mail your
request and your offer to any of the TAG members. Payment
plans, if you can not afford to pay for you request at the
time of requesting we will name a down payment, and accept
the rest in installments within an agreed period of time.

Also, we offer insurance on all of our items, if
dissatisfied with an item within 2(two) days of purchase
we will take it back for a 50% refund
(administration/effort fee), just notify the TAG member
which acquired the item in the first place.

If interested we offer DT Insurance. With this program
all you do is pay monthly payments (payments vary from
person to person) and in case of a DT, TAG will work on
retrieving your equipment for free.

Another advantage of using TAG is that your requests will
NOT go up on Auction unless you decide to not purchase the
item, or there has been no price decided prior to the
acquisition of the item.

We also plan on offering list making services, inquire
with your local TAG member about that.

Little Girl Can't Hold Match to Ramirez

It had been well planned. He knew he couldn't take the little girl alone.
He had to drag in the cavalry. He had not become manager at a pizzaplace
for the sake of his blue eyes. It had taken devious planning. And that he
had needed again. He had to find a way to give the little girl a thorough
beating before daring to even come near her. And thus he had called on
his old friend Joe. They had set up a boxing match. Joe's job was to give
the 7 year old girl a few hard hits to the head, then pretend a knock out.

And it had worked. Of course the little girl had made charcoal out of his
friend - but really, isn't that what friends are for? In the following
confusion over the famous boxer's death it had been a piece of pizza to
finish off the still dizzy brat.

Finally, Richard 'the girlstalker' Ramirez had his revenge over little
Dinah 'firebug' Greenfoss.

The Grendels had the most active members this week with about half their
members involved in some sort of skirmish. After a brief upheaval within
the Panuccis Pizza franchise, they seem to be focusing on getting the
kitchen finished and still defending their reputation as a reputable
pizza parlor. With Barabas "rewarded" by his lord for fulfilling his
quota, the Infernals are left with new management and one wonders what
kind of course of action they will follow. The Knights, Syndicate and IRA
were also out in small numbers this week. A pair of Coven witches were
sited in battle. A single member of the Hermetic Order and only one from
the School of Hard Knocks were seen out on the PK front this past week.

This past week there were 74 pkill-related deaths involving 52 different
characters. Of those 52 characters, 27 of them were accept all at the
time. So come on, let's get YOUR name up in lights! We can't report on it
if you don't tell us about it!

A Sonnet. She Wants A Sonnet.

Lawrence Windstrom chewed on his fingernails, absentmindedly ruining the
careful manicure that Lady Ahania Linnell had given him earlier during
her first attempt to teach him proper manners of a gentleman. A sonnet,
Lady Ahania had said. You have to write your lady a sonnet. That's simply
proper courtship. He carefully penned down the first lines that went
through his silver-haired head.

Dechtire, you set my fire,
Next to you I could be a liar,
Now come roll with me in the briar,
And we'll get lost in the mire,
Then we'll go see the friar...

Even Lawrence had sense enough about him to realize that that piece of
poetic injustice to woman might not be well received. He quickly tore the
page off the notepad and threw it away with a pained look. Sonnet. He had
to come up with a sonnet.

Going Soft

A young man came stumbling into one of my favorite eating establishments
wearing nothing but a look of stupidity.

'Can you help me?' he asked, voice full of despair.

'No, and go outside. You're ruining my dinner,' I replied with my usual
diplomacy.

The young man nodded and did as he was told. He was smarter than he
looked.

After I had finished eating my meal and flirted with the serving wench, I
got up to leave. Once outside, I again saw the naked young man with the
lost look on his face. What a pain.

'Will you help me now?' he asked.

'Aaaarrrghh, what is it you want of me?' I yelled at him.

'I have lost all my stuff and it is very cold out tonight,' he whimpered,
'Could you help me get some clothes or possibly some food'?

I pondered his question for a while and then turned and walked away. I
didn't kill him.

The Adventures of TheThing (embellished) - Part III (New Direction)

LadyAce was the first to listen to TheThing's plight. She sat there
patiently as he explained how DeathWalker and Onkyo had tricked him into
this life that he had not wanted in the first place. LadyAce, however,
did not have the power to assist TheThing, but she granted him an
audience with Sandra, the head of the Gods of Administration. TheThing
sat in Sandra's office, repeating his long story, but Sandra replied that
the rules were the rules, and he would have to redeem himself like any
other that wanted out of PK. TheThing resorted to begging at this point,
practically crying to Sandra, kneeling and pleading to no avail. He was
on his own like at no other time in his life. A stranger in a strange
land, far from his original 'clan' The Fantastic Four, and without many
people he could call 'friend', he left the Immortal complex broken and
distraught.

TheThing dragged himself down to the war board and declared his
intentions for all to see. 'I am leaving the PKill arena. I will be
devoting all of my time and energies to this quest. I would appreciate it
if people would not involve me in their battles, not seek me out for a
fight, and help me if they can in this long quest.' He might as well
have been a teenager in the lunch room who had put a 'kick me' sign on
his own back at this point. What TheThing didn't know was that the
bullies and evildoers of Legend lived for this kind of thing (no pun
intended). Someone asking to be left alone, a known hothead and lousy
PKiller, it was just too tempting to pass up. So as much as TheThing ran
and hid, and tried to gain experience, his XP hole got deeper and deeper.
And to make matters worse, every time he was jumped, attacked, killed, he
got right up on the public channels and whined and cried about it saying
how unfair the world was and how he didn't want to be in PKill any more.

Suddenly a turning point came for TheThing, an event which would change
him forever in ways he could only begin to understand. A fight had broken
out in medieval Sherwood. No one remembers who all was involved and how
it had begun, but TheThing was asked to join a small gang fighting
another small gang, avenging some supposed wrong-doing. In the course of
this fight, someone got killed, and then killed again as they had
reincarnated and were gathering their belongings. Multi-death they called
it. One of the worst offenses a PKiller could perpetuate. And here was
TheThing caught up in the middle of it, accused of the multi himself, and
now targeted for death by all who knew him.

Unbeknownst to TheThing, this bloody battle had split him somehow. The
evil atrocity he had committed somehow divided his better half and turned
him into a rabid bloodthirsty killer, constantly on the run and
desperately trying to hold onto what life he had left. Somewhere off in
his own home town, Dev Sibwarra was born. 'Borne of the trials and
tribulations of a regretful PKiller' TheThing would go on to say later.
Not quite a son to TheThing, certainly not a brother, but literally a
part of TheThing, Sibwarra was to be the goodness that TheThing had left
behind. But we digress from our story.

TheThing had become enamored with Chante', a lovely lass who was friendly
with just about everyone and she used her druidess skills to heal him as
they ran from place to place. But even Chante' betrayed him. Having made
no promises to TheThing, Chante' had an affair with Leatherface, one of
TheThing's good friends. Leatherface and TT began to fight over Chante'
and TheThing had yet another enemy. Now on the run constantly, TheThing
made enemies by the handfuls. Craven chased TT halfway around the world,
delighting in the reactions he elicited. TheThing couldn't help himself,
whining and screaming on the public channels at every turn, and posting
repeatedly to public boards and the war board that he just wanted to be
left alone. In desperation, TheThing learned some magic tricks, like
spells that would cast light healing on him, and ones that would make him
disappear, to reappear at an Inn, quickly escaping his enemies. He had
to carry massive amounts of 'spam gear' with him to accomplish these
feats, however, as he wasn't smart enough or spiritual enough to do it on
his own. But soon, even the desperate tricks were not enough to keep him
safe. His enemies learned how to circumvent his new skills. Just when it
seemed he had nowhere to escape the chasing, he remembered his brief
training from the Knights of Legend.
