It is with great sadness that I have to report that all attempts by
the data recovery company have been met with no positive results. All
attempts at recovering any data between 7/30 and 11/20 have failed.

Upon evaluating this latest news, we, the immortals, have decided to
continue with the playerfiles we have now, the 7/30 backup versions.

Starting Sunday, 12/11, the following will go into effect:

* Death exp loss and deathtraps will be turned back ON. These
will be offset by the fact we're going to increase, across the
board, experience earned by characters.

* Experience earned will be at an increased rate. This increased
experience rate will be in effect for at least 30 days. When we
reboot the mud with the new experience code, we will tell you
what the increased multiplier is.

* The chance of gaining spell levels by casting spells will
likewise be dramatically increased during this 30 day period.

* For equipment lost during the period of 7/30 to 11/20, be it
equipment you own or is in your house, you will be reimbursed.
This will be done on the honor system, but there will be no
questions asked. All reimburses will be logged, but it is up to
you to formulate a list of items you need to be reimbursed.
All immortals will be granted commands to aid in the reimbursal,
we ask that you please be ready when you approach one of them.
The reimbursal period will last for at least 30 days.

* For at least 30 days, strings will be done without question.
Ask and immortal, and be patient.

* For those wishing to go out and get a new item for a string item
you have already, MORTS WILL NOW HAVE THE RESTRING COMMAND and
may restring at any time.

* For lost housing, we will reimburse your bank account enough cash
to replace the house with a similar house. For objects in the house
please see the note above about equipment reimbursal. House
reimbursals will be available for the same period of at least
30 days.

* We *cannot* reimburse quests. Builders are looking at and taking
appropriate measures to speed up the recycle time of some quests
such as stat quests.

* For characters who were completely lost between 7/30 and 11/22,
we HAVE NOT YET determined exactly how we are going to handle these.
We will have decisions made and a policy established by 12/11. We
will be making concessions for stat orders and levels and the like,
but we're not 100% sure on how this will go down. Please be patient.

Please do not ask for any types of reimbursements before 12/11. If you
have any questions, we will be holding some special Q&A sessions.

We apologize for taking as long and for the myriad of different
'stories' up to this point. Now that we know that the data is not
recoverable, we are going to move forward as close to our original
published contingency plans.
