Hello All,

I have noticed a number of great things happening on the mud these last
few weeks! I've seen a number of small rp clans working to get off the
ground. I've seen beyond-the-call rescues and newbie helping,
team-effort corpse recoveries too. It's not just old players, either
-- fairly new players (or at least new characters, it can be hard to
tell!), have been stepping in to help others learn the ropes. Keep on
encouraging each other! Greeting each other on chat, and cheering (and
comforting) on info can really make a difference in how welcome people
feel, whether new or old.

For those of you in America, I hope you had an excellent Halloween!

                                       Love to all,
                                       LadyAce

                           Halloween Game Report

In addition to trick-or-treating the immortal staff, players had the
opportunity to participate in two Halloween-themed games. For this
year's pumpkin hunt, the mud was filled with over 100 pumpkins. A wide
range of players participated, with scores as follows:

Paris & TaKSyn tied with 17
Parox -- 15
Renee -- 13
Gangrene & Kevin tied with 9
Iceman -- 5
Sciath -- 4
Khan -- 3
Vincent and Drako tied with 2

Congratulations to all who hunted pumpkins!

This year was the second annual costume contest. Players gathered in the
OOC graveyard to strut their stuff for the judges, and were evaluated on
creativity and use of game items to put their costumes together.

And the winners were: For most original, Ronnie as a zombie lawyer.
Runner-up was Juggalo as a Juggalo. For funniest, Danar as a newbie.
Runner-up was Pan as a bride. For scariest, Vajrapani as a shaman.
Runner-up was Talon as a pirate.

Thanks for playing and cheering each other on in this contest.

                           Your Weekly Horoscope

In a desperate attempt to learn what the future might hold for you, oh
loyal readers, I have sought far and wide to obtain the following
clues, from none other than our Madame Decara of Agrabah,
prognosticator extrordinaire.

I transcribed her words as they came from her mouth, and produced the
document printed below, and I turned away to hurry to the press so that
it might reach you immediately. 'And remember,' she said, as she waved
me out the door:

'We all need a little more future in our lives.'

Weekly Horoscopes

Virgo (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)
Go horseback riding this week. Don't wear any clothes.

Libra (Sept. 23 - Oct. 23)
Forget about your friends this week and make some money. Kick dogs and shoot
beggars. Steal candy from babies.

Scorpio (Oct. 24 - Nov. 22)
You need to find at least five new temptations before next Friday, and
indulge yourself in them alphabetically. Make the devil blush.

Sagittarius (Nov. 23 - Dec 21)
Death is breathing hot on your heels, even fogging up your sunglasses.
Keep your cool, think calm thoughts, and run, run, run. Like a
sausage.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 - Jan. 19)
Green is a really good color for you. If you don't have any green on,
get some. Kiss anyone wearing green. Eat only green food. Focus on
thinking green, green thoughts.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 - Feb. 19)
This week is your time for verse.
Though your rhyming skills are bad to worse,
It is your star-determined curse,
so thank the heavens and be terse.

Pisces (Feb. 20 - Mar. 20)
Your normal affinity to water is all confused this week. You're going
to drown if you camp out on the ocean. Wells are also bad news -- if
they don't pull you in, they'll poison you at the least. So drink wine
instead.

Aries (Mar. 21 - Apr. 19)
This is an excellent time of year for the Aries. Coupons fall in your
lap, and your enemies will fall over dead at the very sound of your
footfalls.

Taurus (Apr. 20 - May 20)
Your bad manners and poor hygiene will boost your prestige this week.
You should go into sales.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Explore velvet this week. Do what you can to bring more potato products
into your life -- this week will be the equivalent of the New York
Marathon for you, so carbo-load to your heart's content.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer. This week, it's not who you are, it's what you have. Get more
exercise and be sure to amputate any diseased limbs.

Leo (July 23 - Aug. 22)
Call your mother. Beg her to tell you about your long-lost sister.
Don't believe her when she claims that your sister died of a mysterious
disease. You know better. She was kidnapped and is waiting for you to
find her. Trust no one. All lies lead to the truth.

A Proposal, or, How a lonely Gunslinging Musician came to be
engaged to a Lovely young Druidess, by his own account:

Wandering the Dun in the village of Tara, I once again found myself
sneaking into the servant's alcove with the lovely and wickedly
charming Sciath Druerye, my one true love. We had spent long nights in
that seemingly empty alcove before, confessing our feelings to one
another, and the thought of spending more time alone together was more
than pleasing. However, I was having thoughts. It pleased me to spend
so much time with her, but the secrecy of our relationship was starting
to bother me.

With a conspiratorial whisper, she confessed to me, "My friends
are starting to wonder about us, darling. They know that
something is going on." A hesitant smile crossed my lips, my thoughts
still distracted and in the future. "Something wrong?" she asked. "You
seem distracted."

I smiled at her. "Nothing distracts me from you, my love,
except further thoughts of you. I wonder what you think of us, where we
are going?" It seemed not to surprise her as much as I'd expected.

"What exactly did you have in mind?" she asked, as if she
didn't know.

"Stay here a moment, my love?" I said, as I walked away.
Content to wait, she sat. Not content to wait, I believe I have never
traveled so quickly from her native land of Ireland to the land of
Britain, where my treasure awaited me in a small hut near Aquae Sulis.
My courier had come from a land he called Nazca, a land I thought was
legendary. When I saw what he brought, it only reaffirmed to me that
this land could not be real. It was more beautiful than I could have
hoped for, a silver ring in the shape of a rose. It seemed just moments
later that I was back in Ireland, kneeling before my ladylove, and
sliding that beautiful piece of craftsmanship onto her delicate finger.
She knew what it meant, but I asked anyhow. "Sciath, my love... our
time has meant so much to me, and I want it to last forever. Will you
marry me?"

Never have I seen a more beautiful smile of joy. "Need you even
ask?" she said. "Of course I will." After a truly loving embrace and a
smothering of me with her delicate kisses, she suddenly drew her sword.
With a swift move, she'd cut off a lock of her beautiful coppery hair.
Moments later, she'd put it on a delicate silver thread, and placed
that around my neck, where it will stay forever, a treasured memento of
true love.

                                 From Dusty

Describe the eyes; I fail. Describe the face:
I try, but nothing seems to match in song
The visage in my mind. There is no place
In metaphor that serves to sing my longing.

So. Perhaps none can, none will, not now,
Nor ever, understand the passion pent
Within my heart. No verse will serve, no loud
Declaiming, quiet whispers, letters sent.

If I, with words at my command, cannot
Convey my love even to myself--such
small hope have I of my love knowing what
Resides within my heart! Small hope--yet much

Is said by silence and a knowing glance;
Enough, indeed, this invitation to the dance.

-Dusty

                             A Call to Action!

Look what the cat dragged in.

On occasion, a man pauses in mid-stride and glances at the world which
spins around him anew as if he were seeing it for the first time. Often
he will think no more of it than to note the merriness of the forest
birds, or that he needs a new pair of shoes, or that the fellow next to
him really needs a new pair of shoes. Sometimes he will leap from his
bath-tub, yell EUREKA! and run naked down the street. Which is, by the
way, probably not recommendable in our enlightened era (or in winter).
Jest aside, it happened so to me that I stood engaged in light banter
with fellows in the forest near my home, and had such a glancing-about
experience.

What did I not see when my eyes thus were opened!

Too long have we lain complacent, content to let the tides
shift and the trees grow. Too long have we rested on our laurels,
content in the knowledge that while the world can never be completely
rid of evil until the Last Day, we certainly had made a good attempt.
Too long have we walked blind.

I glanced about me there, and heard one peasant whisper to
another that once more, the druids of old, pagan worshipers of trees,
are gathering in far-off glades, there to grovel before ancient oaks
and sacrifice hapless animals to their indifferent idols. By the Lord!
I heard the hapless animals themselves speak! What has the world come
to, when talking rabbits and cats transformed into men walk among us as
if were they too good Christians?

I looked about me once more, but to find that the undead walk
among us now flaunting what they have (and what they lack) as if they
were good productive citizens. Vampires, drinkers of blood, drinkers of
souls, drinkers of both and probably worse, wandering about proudly
displaying their unholy nature as if it was but another color of skin.
Playing their schemes of evil in league with entities of hell, angels
and succubi walking the upper world. All of them shamelessly willing to
claim that they have as much right to exist as their fellow man.

The undead are not fellow men! Succubi are not fellow women!
Rabbits and cats are rabbits and cats!

How simple it would be to focus our effort and channel our
resources at one goal, namely to keep in check Islamic influence on
the world. We have done so, with some success, and sometimes without.
We have fought long battles against followers of trees, of demons and
their masters, and even against witches and sorcerers. Some won, some
lost.

Now it is time to glance into our hearth, rather than beyond
it, in the search for an enemy. The time has come for us all, peasant
or nobleman, man or woman, venerable grandfather or child, bawdy sailor
or serene clergyman, to pause in mid-stride, glance about ourselves,
and consciously make the choice: If we are not with Him, we are against
Him. No longer should evil be permitted to wear masks of humanity and
slink inconspicuously into our homes and friendships, there to sow
seeds of cruelty, unholy passion and strife. 'Tis said that the forces
of good are having a hard time in these years - but 'tis no big wonder
why, with all this that we have goodnaturedly allowed the cat to drag
in.

Yours in Christ,
Tancred de Gisborne,
Master of the Temple.

Chante' and Gwendolyn--The Story of Two Sistas

Chante' and Gwendolyn were born into a wealthy Irish family on a snowy
winter day in December. As the first children and grandchildren in the
McIntyre family, the twins were doted on and loved immensely. While
the twins were growing up, their father, Joseph Mulray McIntyre, was
gone quite often, as he was a traveling musician, and took his music
very very serious, and felt his hard work, and devotion, would provide
and would financially support his family. Their mother Elizabeth
McIntyre, was a warm and compassionate woman, who loved her children
more then anything, and it showed. Though Elizabeth was well taken care
of, and loved her husband very much, she became lonely and consequently
took a lover.

Then one year, the twins were nine years old, and Elizabeth learned she
was pregnant by her lover and had to tell Joseph the truth. Joseph
became incredibly distraught by the news that his wife had an affair,
and he left the family home, never to be seen again. During the course
of her pregnancy, Elizabeth was not really taking care of herself and
went into labor quite early. After days of being in labor, a son,
DethStar was born, Elizabeth had complications while giving birth, her
body just couldn't take anymore, and gave up. Elizabeth died, shortly
after giving birth to her son.

In the days after their mothers death, several family members wanted to
take the twins, but none of them wanted their baby brother because he
wasn't a true McIntyre, and because this baby would be a reminder of
Elizabeth's affair. Chante' and Gwendolyn loved their brother, and
knew they didn't want to be separated from each other, especially after
losing both of their parents. The girls felt that they were on their
own, and knew that they needed to stick together, but didn't know what
to do. Then they remembered their mother's sister, Eris, who lived in
Agrabah. So they took the baby, and a few family belongings and left
their family home in Tara and headed for their Aunt's house in
Agrabah.

When they finally reached their destination, Chante' and Gwendolyn told
their Aunt Eris the story of their mother and father, and how the rest
of the family wanted to separate them from their brother, DethStar.
Eris agreed to raise the children, for Elizabeth was her twin sister
and she couldn't imagine to see her nieces and nephew torn apart. Eris
has one daughter of her own, Jade, who was only a few years older then
the twins. For the next eight years the twins and their brother, lived
in Agrabah with Eris and Jade.

When Chante' and Gwendolyn were 18 they decided to leave Agrabah and
go back home to Tara. They took their brother and returned to the
family home, only to find the once beautiful estate in ruins. The twins
were shocked to find that the rest of the McIntyre family had either
been killed or taken prisoner when Tara was under attack by the
Romans. Determined to bring the McIntyre name back to where it once
was, the twins decided to move into the ruined home and began working
to restore it.

Three years later, the home was finally completely restored. By this
time, Gwendolyn was about to be married to Ronnie Valthalas. Ronnie
and Gwendolyn were happily married for some time, until Ronnie's
jealous nature became too much for Gwendolyn to handle. After several
attempts at making the marriage work, Ronnie and Gwen divorced.

At this point in time, both Chante' and Gwendolyn were single and
taking care of their little brother. After awhile, Chante' met Xerox
and the two quickly became inseparable, and deeply in love. After being
engaged for a very short time, Chante' and Xerox were married. Chante'
and Xerox were deeply in love, but later in their marriage, they began
to have some problems, and Chante' became very unhappy. Her unhappiness
grew, as she found herself married, living a single life, she became no
stranger to loneliness, and heartbreak. After nights of crying herself
to sleep, and advised by some of her closest friends, Chante' decided
that it was time for a change, and she would divorce Xerox. This was
the hardest decision she had to make, but it was something that needed
to be done. Unfortunately, as a result, there was lots of tension
between Xerox's siblings and Chante', but she knew in her heart that
she could never be truly happy with Xerox until he was ready to commit
himself to her fully, heart and soul. Chante' and Xerox are friends at
this time.

While Gwen was married to Ronnie still, she had a friend named Deqitosv
Awooga. After her divorce, Deqitosv had been there for her when she
needed him, and eventually, the two of them became more then friends
and were engaged. After months of being together, Gwen and Deq decided
to FINALLY get married, because Gwen was pregnant. A beautiful baby
girl, Cenja, was born, and to this day Cenja is the pride of the
McIntyre and the Awooga families.

So, this brings us to the present day in the story of these two
sistas. Gwen is still very happily married to Deqitosv, and their
baby daughter is loved immensely. In their extended family, are Deq's
cousin Jen-Jen and her wife, FireHorse, Deq's sister Anastejia and her
daughter Denstra, and Denstra's granddaughter, Mertjai. Chante' is
currently dating, and she hopes that she has found true love in a
certain prominent Legend citizen.

DethStar has grown into a nice young man, seeking happiness for himself
and his sisters. Although he is close with his sisters, as he becomes
older, he is becoming more curious about his "other family", his
father's family. DethStar's dream is to find out more about them and
to one day meet his father. Josepth McIntyre is believed to still be
alive. Although Chante' and Gwen haven't seen him since they were nine
years old, they still love their father very much. They hope that one
day he will return to Tara and see what a good life the twins have made
for themselves and their families.

Chante', Gwendolyn and DethStar are very close siblings who love each
other and their families very much. Even though DethStar is the only
remaining McIntyre by name, they all hope that as they grow older, the
story of the McIntyre's and their families will continue to grow.

An Appeal to the family O'Flaherty

I've searched all of these lands, in the hopes that I would find those of
my lady's family I had not yet spoken, to no avail. Those of the
O'Flaherty family that I have not yet spoken to, I ask you grant me this.
It is of great importance that we meet. I've given my word to Xanthea I
would do all I possibly could in order to get in touch with each of you.
I ask of you, do not let me down.
I await your responses.

Respectfully,
Sterling
