Happy 10th Birthday, LegendMUD!
Wow, it is hard to believe it was ten years ago that we were sitting
around scrambling trying to finish all those little last minute details,
like making sure the areas loaded or figuring out what those skill
prereqs should be or even how those socials should be worded. And why
we were crazy enough to pick Valentine's Day... well.. all I can say is
it sounded like a plan at the time.
This year wasn't quite as frantic. Although a couple of builders, like
Cheyla and LadyAce, and the coders, like Huginn and Rufus, may have been
feeling the crunch with everything they set out to have ready for today.
They may be responsible for some of the most visible additions today,
but ALL the immortals, current and past, deserve a huge round of applause
for all that they've done to make this place have such a rich, deep
atmosphere and filled with nooks and crannies to explore.
And all the players (mortal and immortal alike), who have been around for
years building the spirit of community as well as those who are still
learning the ropes, deserve a big round of thanks and pats on the back
for helping to make this not just a great place to hang out but a place
many of us also think of as extensions of home.
Many muds never celebrate such milestones, but I'm proud to know we have
and will continue to do so.

If you plan to participate in this year's Expies in any way, whether you
expect to win an Expie or are just nominating and voting, it is
imperative that you read this.
This is a reminder of a policy first instituted last year due to
activities in the past and complaints regarding campaigning and bribery.
We have always discouraged campaigning and bribery to win an Expie as it
is not within the spirit of the Expies. Unfortunately, despite such
discouragement, it still happens.
We will disqualify nominees that participate in campaigns and utilize
bribery to win nominations and votes. Campaigning just to disqualify
someone will result in disciplinary action against the campaigner.
What constitutes campaigning? Illusions, notes, board posts, repeated
comments on channels, and other like activity in the game encouraging
people to nominate/vote a certain way. This includes campaigning both for
and against something/someone. While you are encouraged to post
suggestions on the Expie board for nominees, it is still not allowed to
use the Expie board for campagning - post the minimum required
information necessary.
What constitutes bribery? The offering of XP, coupons, strings,
equipment, quest help, money, etc to secure someone's nomination or vote.
Please report any activities of such, preferably with logs.

The Avengers celebrated their 4th Anniversary of forming on February 9th.
The United Surgeons of Legend and the Agrabah Mafia will celebrate their
5th Anniversaries tomorrow, on February 15th.
The Grendels will celebrate their 5th anniversary of forming on February
22nd.

When asked for a few words about the USL, Mertjai LaRue had the following
to say:
To celebrate the United Surgeon of Legend's fifth
anniversary, we take a peek into the usually busy
headquarters of the USL, to go where no man has gone
before, except for the thousands of patients that have
been there over the years anyway. While rumors of baby
eating, sheltering dark guppies, vampire elves, juniper
addicted druids and slacking Nazi officers, and
patients being stitched up in a nice crochet pattern
are still rampant, the head of the USL, General Doctor
Mertjai LaRue, assures that a twelve step program has
been implemented for all the non existent strange
habits of the clan that there is no proof of and never
will be! Never! Yes. Well.
Regardless of those hovering rumors, the USL welcomes
all practicing doctors of various backgrounds, planets
and skill. For those whose surgical skills only go as
far as the little "Play dough" doctor set they had as a
child, an affiliated order, the Thugs, welcomes all
else who wish to be part of the large USL family, and
whose Mafia connections may not be inferred.
GMs for the Agrabah Mafia and the Grendels were unavailable for comment.

There are currently 21 RP clans and 3 PK clans. This leaves open slots for
eight (8) more clans to form. For more information, read HELP CLAN and see
the clan information list via the CLANS command while logged into the

Two weeks ago, the Grendels had the most members involved in pk
skirmishes. They were closely followed by the Knights of Legend. The
Underworld and the Lords of Justice each had a pair of members out in the
field as well. The following clans each had one member involved in pkill:
The Necromancers, the Infernals and the Seven Circles.
Two weeks ago there were 15 pk-related deaths involving 32 different
characters. Of those 20 characters, 5 of them were accept all and 9 of
them were PKE at the time. There were 7 pke vs pke battles that ended in
death. There were 80 PKE characters and 913 PKOK characters.
This past week, the Grendels once again had the most members out in the
field getting their hands dirty. The Underword and the Lords of the Just
had the next highest number of members engaged in pkill activities. The
Infernals and the Seven Circles both had a pair of members out furthering
their cause. The following clans each had one member involved in a pkill
incident this past week: the Agrabah Mafia, the Society of Allies, the
Institute of Healing Arts and the Order of the Scroll.
This past week there were 62 pk-related deaths involving 43 different
characters. Of those 43 characters, 28 of them were accept all and 18 of
them were PKE at the time. There were 27 pke vs pke battles that ended in
death. There are 80 PKE characters and 920 PKOK characters. So come on,
get YOUR name up in lights! We can't report it if you don't tell us!
