   '------------------------------------------------------------------'

Well its good to be back!!!
In the time since issue 5 of the LT we had 3 weeks of downtime due to
a serious breach of security. Kaige, Ptah, and Ea! (amongst others)
worked tirelessly so that the down time was minimised, and for that
they have all of our thanks.

To celebrate the return of LegendMUD the Pr department is organising a
huge games day. This will take place from midnight on November the 15th
and continue onto midnight of the 16th (well that is the plan at the moment)
The festivities of the day will include the third annual Pkill tourney
as well as a couple of trivias, a huge scavenger hunt, the first annual
LegendMUD essay contest, and all your old favourites. So head on over, and
maybe you will pick yourselves up a coupon or two!!

I'm sure you will all agree with me when I say that the hugest news of
recent times has got to be Petal's promotion to full PR. Petal's hours of
tireless devotion to the citizens of LegendMUD, along with her beautifully
crafted literary genius which is displayed in the LT each week have finally
been recognised. I realise that you all will be celebrating very hard at
this news, but please, take a moment out from your festivities to
congratulate her.

In other huge PR department news, It is with great pleasure that Rusalka
announces that Tad will become the newest member of the great PR family.
He will be available to do all the usual PR type things, as well as running
his Animal Crackers games, and RP contests and Tiny plots.

Anyways, I hope to see you all at the huge festival of games over the
weekend, and I wish all the competitors luck. Until next time,
Happy Mudding!!!!

I Spent much time helping Ea! get things back in shape for getting the
mud back up and running.
Spent time talking with the department heads about current status and
plans for moving forward.

                             -=-=-=--=-=-=-

Kept their collective eyes and ears well tuned to the channels and the
boards in their ever-vigilant role as mud administrators.
They posted a note about accepting new clan proposals and setting up a
meeting with current GMs.

                           PLAYER RELATIONS
                           -=-=-=-==-=-=-=-

This week we all did the usual online work including helping newbies,
restrings/strings, registers and clanning. In addition to this, the PR
department had a meeting this week to discuss the direction that the
department was heading, and to work on a couple of large projects
including the Huge festival of games (taking place on the 15th to the
16th of November). Other big news of the week is that Petal has been
given a promotion and is now 'Full PR', and that Tad has joined the PR
team. Tad will be responsible for running games and RP plots.

                              BUILDING
                              -=-==-=-
The building department has a number of major accomplishments this
month:

-Added new tools to make building more efficient and to allow builders
to do a wider variety of things (contributors to this effort include
Rufus, Charity, and Kaige).

-Improved existing areas: Flagg made some fixes and enhancements to the
Inferno, Kheldar worked on some revisions to Romania, and Deanna made
some fixes to Melbourne.

-Moved new areas further along in the various stages of production --
there's at least one area in each stage right now: Kheldar is polishing
up Sinbad, and LadyAce is polishing up Crusades, to prepare for
testing. Leila has made a lot of progress on London, which will also be
ready for immortal testing soon. Croaker finished writing, and moved
his Peloponnesian Isles area into immortal testing mode. Deanna worked
more on her Dreamtime area, which is nearly out of immortal testing.
Zandy's Anasazi area moved out of testing mode, and has been submitted
for imp approval. Look forward to adventuring in these areas in the
near future!

                        HALLOWEEN COMPETITION
                        -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

On Halloween, Ea!, LadyAce and Sandra ran a costume contest with
prizes for first and second place in three categories - Funniest,
Most original, and Scariest.
The results were: For funniest costume, the winners were the group of
Dede, L'Espanaya, Tancred, Chaos and Diabolique as the Spice Zombies.
Second place went to Starbiter as Tad.
For Most original, the winner was Starbiter as Tad. Second place went
to Marauder as a Drug dealer.
For Scariest, the winner was Sheer as a witch. Second place went to
Belmat as Death.
Congrats to all that won, and thanks to everyone that played. You all
had great costumes.

Later in the evening, the three also ran a pumpkin hunt where 100
pumpkins and that ever sneaky Great Pumpkin were hidden throughout the
mud just waiting to be found. Prizes went to the 3 players with the
most pumpkins, and the one that found the Great Pumpkin.
Winners were Chimera with 21 pumpkins, Dede with 17, and MrBlack with 13.
Morphine found the Great pumpkin hiding in Maev's place.

Congrats to the winners!
