So, the first phase of the new system has been implemented. Until playerhousing is implemented, only 10 pkill clans will be running under the system. Two things that will remain under immortal control: a) pk-enabling characters and retention of 1 pk-enabled character per player, and removing pk-enabled status to those that wish to retire from pkill after hitting 100 million experience. b) disbanding of clans that violate the player code of conduct (This includes issuing official warnings for all members of said clan.) The goals beyond the reduction of immortal "interference" include more self-regulation among the players, more flexibilty and personalization of clan themes, and to encourage more participation in clans. Eventually purely RP clans will be formed the same way as PK clans under this system. Only characters that are PK-enabled will be able to form and join pk clans. RP clans can be formed by any mortal. If the players decide they would rather have 32 "officially recognized" rp clans instead of pk clans, that is up to them. Once a clan has been formed as either PK or RP, its status cannot be changed unless it is disbanded and restarted from scratch. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= What Changes Have Been Made? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The max number of clans is currently 32, but is definable. The max number of members is 15 and minimum required to keep a clan active is 5. These numbers are also definable. Currently, it takes three reboots/crashes for a clan to be automatically disbanded because of low membership and warnings are placed in the ROSTER command when membership levels drop to dangerous lows. The level at which PERMADEATH occurs has been dropped to level 10. This is to make all pkenabled characters vulnerable to the same rules. No more sitting at level 14 and making a pest of yourself without recourse for others. As well as keeping it fair across the board to all players regardless of pkill status. Clan channels no longer require tokens to use for clan members. There is also currently no mechanism for them to be overheard by other mortals. Another reminder about clan channels is they are considered "public" channels as we do not put age restrictions on clanning so the same obscentity rules for CHAT, INFO and AUCTION aplly to clan channels. There have been some minor changes in the initial design that allowed things to work more easily but didn't significantly change the desired results of the system. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= - The Basic Commands for the System =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= PKCLANS AND WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT Players may only have one pkenabled character at a time. Permadeath still applies after level 10 to pkenabled characters. Pkenabled characters may attack any other pkenabled character within 10 levels of their own character. Exceptions to this rule are PKclan GMs. GMs of pkill clans may attack any member of their clan for punitive measures and may be attacked by any members of their clan as an additional check on their power as clan leader. Until playerhousing is implemented, clan hall access may be gained by asking relevant mobs in the game to transfer you to the clan hall. You will be successful if you are wearing a clan token and have the password or are member of that clan and have the password. NOTE: unclanned characters are not able to enter clan halls, even with the correct token and password. The CLANS command: Syntax: CLANS ALL lists all clans with brief information Syntax: CLANS RP lists all rp clans with detailed information Syntax: CLANS PK lists all pk clans with detailed information This command lists off information about the clan such as keyword, purpose, the date they were established. You can choose to list all clans, all roleplaying clans, or all pkill clans. With the implementation of playerhousing, players will have the ability to freely form and disband clans, as well as, induct and cast out members without immortal intervention. Each clan also will be able to freely elect a GuildMaster or GuildMistress by pledging their loyalty to other clan members. The member with the most loyalty is automatically named GM. Characters of ALL levels are eligible to join a RP clan. However, to join a PK clan, the character must be already pkenabled by an admin immort. Players may only have one pkenabled character at a time. Clans that are inactive or without a GM for an extended period of time will be removed, and any and all remaining members will be removed from the clan. DISBANDING A CLAN: Syntax: DISBAND This is a GM only command that can be used to disband a clan. All members are set to belong to no clan. Pkenabled characters will remain pkenabled. This command can also be used by immortals to disband clans that violate the player code of conduct. FORMING NEW CLANS: Syntax: FORM NOTE that this command will be disabled until player housing is implemented. Once playerhousing is implemented, players will be able to freely form clans and disband them without immortal intervention. This command is used to form new clans. Both roleplaying and pkill clans. You must be level 5 to form a new clan, but can be any level to join an RP clan. To join a PK clan, you must first be pkenabled. Note: Joining a clan is much different than becoming pkill enabled. To become pkill enabled, you must contact an immortal in the admin dept. after you have reached level 10 but before you reach level 36. INDUCTING NEW MEMBERS INTO A CLAN: Syntax: INDUCT This is a GM only command that is used to induct characters who are seeking to join the clan. Mutual consensus between the two parties is required. The new member's loyalty is automatically set to the inducting GM. See also HELP SEEK and HELP PLEDGE. OUTCASTING A MEMBER OF A CLAN: Syntax: OUTCAST This is a GM only command that is used to remove members from the clan. The member need not be online to be removed. All loyalties to and given by the outcast member are removed. GMs should note that by using this command they may jeopardize their standing as GM if this should decrease their loyalty below that required to be GM of their clan. See also HELP PLEDGE and HELP ABANDON. PLEDGING YOUR LOYALTY TO ANOTHER CLAN MEMBER: Syntax: PLEDGE This command is used to pledge your loyalty to a fellow clan member. The member with the most loyalties within the clan, is automatically named GM. Loyalties are not visibly tracked except by who is the current GM. GMs should see also: OUTCAST DEFINING THE PURPOSE OF YOUR CLAN: Syntax: PURPOSE This is a GM only command that is used to provide additional information about the clan in the CLANS listing command. See also: HELP FORM and HELP CLANS RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS: Syntax: RECRUIT This is a GM only command that allows them to see who online is currently seeking membership in their clan. See also: HELP INDUCT GETTING A ROSTER LISTING FOR YOUR CLAN: Syntax: ROSTER This command allows clan members to see all current members of their clan. The current GM is noted as well in this listing. SEEKING TO JOIN A CLAN: Syntax: SEEK This command is used by characters to indicate interest in joining a clan. Clan Gms can then INDUCT new members if desired. Mutual consent between the GM and the character seeking to joing the clan are required for membership. You cannot seek to join a clan while being a member of another. You must first abandon all former clan ties.
