Aslan had revealed Himself to Judah in what Aslan called His true form, a form that He had said that Judah had not been ready to see until now. The man who stood before Judah on the mountain was a young man, perhaps in his thirties, he looked as though he had spent much time out of doors,a nd perhaps of middle eastern descent, but the holes in his hands and sandaled feet are what stuck out in Judah's mind. He had seen this man before, but where? Judah continued his journey and met with his old friend, Camaris. He related the story and Camaris began to think, his brow furrowing beneath his long white hair. After a short time, he looked up and said, 'I think I know where to find an answer.' And so Camaris led Judah to the Temple that Judah had first visited with Frater Tancred de Gisborne. And there, upon the wall was a picture of the man, lighter skinned, but the holes in the feet and hands were still there, and one in his side too. 'That is him,' Judah stated quietly. 'Are you sure?' Camaris asked him. 'Yes, I am sure. The one I knew as Aslan is, in truth, Jesus, who is the Christ... I must tell Frater Tancred,' Judah concluded. 'Aye, that you do, old friend. Be well on your journey.' 'And you as well, Camaris, May God go with you.' Camaris nodded, turned, and left the Temple. Judah, finding himself alone again, sat down in a pew and loo at the man in the picture, his hands held out, as if ready to embrace any that came up up to him. 'Yes,' thought Judah, 'This is the one I knew as Aslan, the eyes are the lion's, and the compassion is clearly evident. But I have said that I am a servant of Aslan for so many years... how difficult will it be to retrain my mouth and mind to say different words from which has flowed for many years?' Judah went to the Temple's library and began reading the book of God, the Bible, and other writings he found there, such as the Apocrapha and the Pseudopygrapha. He engrossed himself in all the writings, including some of the rabbinical writings of Judaic traditions. Judah was no longer Aslan's humble servant, but truly a servant of the living God, and humble servant and prophet of YHWH, a follower of Jesus, who is the Christ. His soul was soaring, his mind swimming in the knowledge he had aqcuired. ---- No longer will you see Judah as: Short: Aslan's humble servant Long: Seeking the will of Aslan, a humble servant looks to the heavens. but rather as: Short: a humble servant Long: Seeking the will of the living God, a humble servant looks to the heavens. ___ ___ \ |--------------------------------------------------------| / /__| Clan News |__\ '--------------------------------------------------------' Nearly all the Grendels were out on the pk front again this week. That hurt. Looking down at his right arm, Bahamut cringed as he saw bone poking through the skin. 'Gotta watch that tail better,' he thought to himself as he grabbed his last bandage and used it to tightly bind his arm to keep it from flopping. Reaching down, he grabbed DragonBuster, the sword of his father, and charged back into the fray. Leaping high into the air, Bahamut swung the sword, streaming blue fire, at the head of his adversary. *Clang* the sword deflected off one of the daggerlike fangs filling the gaping maw of the great pink lizard, TwinkleToes, King of the Dragons. Laughing in malevolent glee, TwinkleToes made a grab for Bahamut, trying to crush the life out of the insignificant Sidhe, feeling flesh part as his claws sailed past. 'Come here little grub,' cried the Dragon King, 'Feel my teeth peirce your vitals as I scarf you down like a little elfy pizza roll!' 'Never, you pink pansy,' Bahamut retorted, 'The Spirit of my Father requires the life of his Murderer! Prepare to meet thy maker!' Throwing his hand out towards the Great Wurm circling in the air above him, Bahamut released a ferocious blast of energy, trying to stun the Dragon out of the sky. Dodging the blast, TwinkleToes took a deep breath, preparing to unleash the full fury of his Deadly Halitosis on the young man come to take his life. Opening his jaws wide, the Dragon King spewed forth a raging torrent of flame at Bahamut, who used his acrobatic skills to tumble away from the worst of the damage. Shaking with rage, Bahamut pointed a finger at the huge dragon, muttering the words of a spell. With a shriek of power the coruscant beam lanced out at TwinkleToes, blasting deep into his side, tearing a scream of pain from his throat. As the dragon crashed to the ground, Bahamut rushed in to the attack. Running up the dragon's foreleg, he turned his sword inverted, getting ready to drive it into one of the bloodshot eyes glaring at him. As Bahamut leapt from the dragon's leg, TwinkleToes rolled more on his side, allowing him room to use a wing to *smack* the elf out of the air, sending him flying 50 feet across the arena. Clambering to his feet, TwinkleToes slowly advanced on the fallen Sidhe, an evil grin on his soot-blackened muzzle. 'And now,' the Dragon King rumbled, 'You die...' Sprawled on the arena floor, Bahamut scrabbled weakly for the bow laying near him, knowing that this was it. Closing his hand around the weapon, Bahamut staggered to his feet, reaching over his shoulder in hopes of finding an arrow. Pulling the remaining arrow from his quiver, he fitted it to the string, sighting blearily down the shaft at the approaching juggernaut. Feeling tendons rip and bone grating on bone, Bahamut gritted his teeth and pulled the arrow to his cheek, silently screaming in agony as his right arm erupted in pain. 'No,' Bahamut growled in pain/rage, 'You die!' TwinkleToes the Pink, King of All Dragons, again opened his mouth, sending a flood of fire streaming forth. Bahamut released his arrow, sending it streaking directly into the inferno racing toward him. Into the dragon's maw the arrow flashed, peircing the tender, vulnerable roof of the dragon's mouth, driving in to the fletching, pinning closed the sinus passage carring the dragon's flame. With a blinding *flash* and an eardrum-rupturing *whoomp* the dragon's head exploded, sending chunks of skull and bits of squishy brain flying in all directions. Turning to the assembled dragons who had witnessed the battle, Bahamut said unto them, 'According to Dragon Law, whosoever defeats the King in mortal combat takes his place as King! As I have slain King TwinkleToes, I hereby take his place! All Hail Bahamut, King of All Dragons!' And from the dragons crowding the grandstand came the reply: 'All Hail Bahamut, King of All Dragons!' =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= A Sign of Things to Come It was late, the moon shone brightly through her window. Sitting at a desk in her chambers, a tawny Catholic nun was composing a letter. 'Brother Judah,' the letter began. 'I would humbly ask that you keep an eye on my husband's blade, and my hound, as I have asked him to keep an eye on you.' 'I leave him because, for the first time, I do not believe that I can assure his safety...for I cannot assure mine. I am not certain that Our Lord resides in the place I must now go to.' 'Sir Lawrence - I am sure you know of him - is in grave danger. Indeed, he is ill, and long ago I made a vow to assist him in obtaining a cure. It is the keeping of this vow that I find myself in need to pursue this night.' 'I go with the Lord in my heart, and I pray that he guides me.' 'If I do not return, mon frere, please tell Sir Lawrence that I tried, and, more importantly, not to give up hope.' She looked up and out into the night sky, afire with the twinkle of distant stars and the warm glow of the moon, her large brown eyes searching for something. An overly-curious basset hound lay still, save the slow rise and fall of his chest as he slept, at her feet - dreaming of bones fit for a king's best hunting dog. 'It has been a long time, my friend,' she said to no one. 'And now I must make good on what I have promised.' She then smiled down at her companion, running her fingers gently over his floppy ears. He stirred long enough to huff, then turned to lay on his back. She took pen to parchment and signed, 'Yours in Christ, Sister Trinity d'Arpajon, Knight of the Temple.' Looking up again, she saw. A luminous tail etching across the half-globe of the night. She nodded, gently pat Thor on his belly, and, pulling her hood over her blue-black hair, set forth. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= New Ones Lady Emrysia Royce quietly watched the figure pacing to and fro as she rested in a nearby chair. 'MoiraGwyn, you are going to wear a hole into the floor if you keep that up,' She smiled at her friend. Queen MoiraGwyn de'Dannan looked up, startled, 'Are they done? What happened, what did he say??' Emrysia giggled. 'No, they are not done yet, you should relax! Look at you, one would think you were the boy's mother.' Both women cast eyes to the far side of the room, where MoiraGwyn's newest charge was being looked over my Asher McCabe, M.D. MoiraGwyn resumed her pacing. 'I know nothing about children...' She muttered. 'They seem to require so very much different care from my pets. And this one -- when he cries, even the tiger takes cover.' She sighed, pacing a larger circle. The sound of chuckling paused MoiraGwyn in her tracks. Asher was walking towards the women, holding Corwyn, wrapped snuggly in his first cloak. 'Your Highness, are you sure he is not yours? You sound like a worried parent,' the doctor mused. The Queen broke into a smile, peering down at the child in Ashers arms. 'He is well?' 'Perfectly fine, vitals are good. Happy, active little boy you have here. You say he was left at your doorstep?' MoiraGwyn and Emrysia exchanged glances. 'Yes, but I know who the parents are...' MoiraGwyn's eyes met Asher's. 'The boy is Masha and Isam's child.' Asher stared quietly at MoiraGwyn for a moment before looking down at the child. 'He seems.. normal.' Emrysia looked relieved, 'We were a little concerned.' MoiraGwyn grinned at her friend, 'Some of us more than others.' 'I can imagine,' Asher smiled down at the baby. 'And look how he has grown! I was there when you were born.' Asher tickled Corwyn's chin. The baby giggled in response. The doctor glanced at MoiraGwyn. 'You know... I dont see any signs of anything... odd. He looks like a normal sidhe baby. Or Elven in this case. You would never think he came from--' The women nodded in understanding. 'You will keep me informed wont you? And if you see anything or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.' Asher handed Corwyn to MoiraGwyn. 'We will, and thank you,' Emrysia smiled at the doctor. 'For the records...' MoiraGwyn looked up from the small cooing bundle in her arms. 'Masha and I spoke a few days ago. She gave him up to me and asked us to raise him as our own, Rowane and I.' 'How does Rowane feel about all of this?' Asher inquired. 'You would think he birthed the boy himself the way he has been showing him off. It is no different than if Corwyn was Rowane and my son, he loves the child very much. It would hurt him greatly if anything were to happen...' Doctor Asher McCabe M.D. and Queen MoiraGwyn de'Dannan stared quietly at each other for a long moment, contemplating to themselves the affect of those words and the possible outcomes. Neither noticed the increasingly worried look on Emrysia's face. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The Legendary Times is published by the immortals of LegendMUD.
